The Edwardian murder-mystery, in zombie ridden, vampire plagued London continues with the debauchery of the aristocracy presented in rather nauseating fashion. Furthermore, in this issue, we are treated to, in flashback, a Restless in action. It is a sequence which is as skilfully written as it is drawn. The New Deadwardians is somewhat reminiscent of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, starring Jeremy Brett (who suffered from having to follow the iconic Basil Rathbone), in tone and will be atop my comic pile upon release, particularly given the suspenseful conclusion of the issues. A much welcomed return to form for Vertigo.
