Revival #2

So far, Revival has introduced characters and their situation – having to deal with a recently departed, but somewhat functional, loved one presents a number of issues after all. Refreshingly, there's a distinct lack of exposition in Revival; information is (neatly) shoehorned into conversation and the series has concerned itself with the ‘little moments’ – most effectively those between Dana and Em – rather than arching themes. These will have to become apparent as it’s more understated psychological horror (with genuine humour) than ‘rural noir’ currently. I’m not sure the accompanying soundtrack is to my tastes but applaud the idea all the same.

Rating **** (stick)
