America’s Got Powers #2

Jonathan Ross (@wossy) & Bryan Hitch (@thebryanhitch)

The foundations on which Ross intends to build in the remaining four issues are introduced herein – our ‘zero to hero’ Tommy is given a pacifist/self-help guru for a love interest and unresolved family conflicts, whilst manipulative government forces are made known. Unfortunately, they are timeworn as the powers he has dreamt up for his characters - psychic abilities, super strength and the potential to form ice at will to name but a few. Flashback sequences lacking nuance only hindered the book further. This book repels interest and is irksome. However, Hitch’s cinematic artwork continues to impress, except for the cover.
