Ozmandias’ arrogance is made apparent, making his future actions all the more credible. Lee’s art continues to amaze; the double page spread in which characters appear in silhouette is a wonder, as is the continued circle motif. Wein’s writing is second only to Cooke’s – both seem to have a deeper understanding of what they are involved in. I presumed this was the least ambitious of the Before Watchmen books, although this changed given the last panel. I feel as if we will be led to the opening pages of Watchmen and it’s a journey I am (now) willing to undertake.
